What Sanitas Más Salud covers: full guide to benefits, copayments and price (2026)

Hospitalisation, specialists without waiting lists, 24h emergencies, diagnostics, dental, Blua and up to €500 income-tax deduction for self-employed. Everything Sanitas Más Salud includes, explained without jargon.

The most honest question anyone asks before signing a private health insurance policy: what exactly does it cover? Not the same as being told 'you have medical coverage' — actually knowing what happens when you need surgery, when your child falls sick on a Sunday night, or when the doctor prescribes an urgent MRI.

What Sanitas Más Salud is — and why it comes in three tiers

Sanitas Más Salud isn't one product but a family of three tiers sharing exactly the same coverage. The only difference is the copayment:

  • Más Salud — no copay: nothing to pay per visit, higher monthly premium.
  • Más Salud Plus — low copay: mid-range premium with a small fee per medical act.
  • Más Salud Óptima — standard copay: lowest premium with a slightly higher fee per use.

GP and paediatrician

You have access to a general practitioner for day-to-day consultations, prescriptions and referrals. For families, the paediatrician is available Monday to Friday 8am-10pm — in person or via video. Weekend emergency? 24h emergency service kicks in.

Specialists without waiting lists

This is where the difference vs public healthcare really shows. Más Salud gives access to 58,000+ doctors and 4,500 centres across Spain. Cardiologist, orthopaedist, dermatologist, gynaecologist, psychiatrist — no months of waiting. In Jaén, where the public system averages 180+ days for a specialist, the difference is huge.

24h emergencies in Spain and abroad

Emergencies are covered 24/7, 365 days a year — weekends and holidays included. Abroad, international emergency coverage reaches €12,000/year per person.

Hospitalisation: the flagship coverage

This is what separates Más Salud from basic plans: hospitalisation is included. Any admission — surgery, illness, whatever — is covered.

  • Private room with companion bed.
  • ICU/HDU admission covered.
  • Extended coverage if hospitalisation happens in a province other than home.

Diagnostics: what your policy should cover but many don't

Blood tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, MRI, CT — every test the doctor prescribes is covered within the medical network. Basic policies often exclude or limit tests. With Más Salud, if the specialist prescribes it, it's covered.

Basic dental included (Sanitas Dental 21)

Includes 30+ dental services covered across Sanitas' 220+ clinics in Spain, plus up to 21% discount on other treatments. Not a full dental plan, but covers check-ups, consultations and basic treatments that many health policies don't include at all.

Video consultation and digital health with Blua

Through Blua, included in your policy, you can: video-consult a GP or specialist from home, get prescriptions during the call, access digital programmes (nutrition, pregnancy, child health, training), evaluate symptoms with a digital assistant, and access online psychology ('Cuida tu mente').

Tax advantage for self-employed: up to €500 deduction

Self-employed workers can deduct up to €500 per insured person (holder, spouse and children under 25) — €1,500 in case of disability. Real deduction, not a marketing discount.

The fine print shouldn't be fine

Many people take out a health policy without truly understanding what they have — then surprises arrive. My job as an exclusive Sanitas agent in Úbeda is exactly that: explain what your policy includes, what differs between tiers and which one fits your real situation. If you're in Úbeda, Baeza, Torreperogil, Sabiote, Linares, Jaén or Andújar, message me at +34 742 060 375 or use the form. Personalised, free, no obligation.
